ELPID21 course in collaboration with Siemens Mobility Austria GmbH officially started!

The new edition of the ELPID course officially started with the kick-off workshop in a virtual environment. During the first day, students were welcomed to the course by lecturers and team coaches from four participating institutions UL, UNIZAG-FSB, POLIMI and TUW.

This year’s ELPID hosts (TU Wien) took us on a virtual sightseeing tour of Vienna, followed by the teams’ socialization event and their first challenge – a virtual escape room.

Students will be introduced to Siemens Mobility Austria GmbH and familiarized with the design task through the thematic keynote speeches in the next few days. This year’s task is to develop flexible elements of the interior of the new generation subway car.

The methods and tools presented during the lectures will guide students to identify and explore research areas (problems about underground mobility, specifics of potential markets, users and stakeholders) to establish a common understanding as a basis to build on for the remainder of the course.

We are looking forward to the next workshop days and the rest of the course!
