ELPID Final Workshop 2020
On Wednesday, June 10th, 2020, POLIMI representatives (Prof. Cascini and Dr. Becattini) organised the final workshop for the this-year edition of ELPID course. The final workshop was completely and seamlessly conducted in an online form (by using MS Teams platform) and gathered more than 70 participants from academia and industry.
During the workshop, international teams that participated in this course revealed and presented their solutions to Electrolux and Rold industrial representatives, other teams and educators. The company representatives were delighted with the process and outcomes of students’ work as well as the course organisation.
However, we should emphasise that Team B was announced as a winner of ELPID 2020 course! Therefore, congrats to Danko Lipovac and Nikola Topalovic (University of Zagreb, Croatia), Mark Gladek and Patrik Tarfila (University of Ljubljana, Slovenia), Tharun Karanam and Srinivas Pradhan Rajkumar (POLIMI, Italy), David Kames and Hans Küffner-McCauley (Vienna University of Technology, Austria) with Coaches Vanja Cok and Daria Vlah (University of Ljubljana, Slovenia)! Their solution to ELPID2020 challenge was evaluated as the best in terms of its technical quality and clarity.
We would like to thank all participants of this course and congratulate to all students, coaches and industrial experts on the successful submission of final solutions after three review points. Also, special thanks to Electrolux and Rold for their continuous help and support throughout the course!
Based on insights from the interviews conducted with students and coaches, and findings from the digital traces of teamwork in various tools that were utilised, we will further improve e-learning aspect of the course in the following year! Unfortunately, this aspect becomes more relevant and important due to this-year global pandemic. However, we believe that our output will help to tackle some educational issues related to distributed and collaborative learning!
